1-Hour VIRTUAL Workshop
Amy Putansu will present the method she developed 25 years ago for using the Fanning Dent Reed on her Macomber floor loom to create flowing, undulating wave patterns within woven interlacement. While this approach is not widely practiced, it is highly effective on certain looms and allows for precise control when gently shaping curves to achieve smooth, continuous transitions. Amy has applied this method on a variety of looms, including those manufactured by Louet, LeClerc, and Edwards and Tilson. She will also present selected artworks that illustrate how ondulé weaving can be integrated with complementary techniques, illustrating the potential for dynamic and unexpected results in textiles.
